Easy Easter Goody Bags to DIY

Good morning! I hope everyone is doing well. I’m not sure what our Easter is going to look like this year, but I still wanted to give my kids a little bag of goodies even though they are adults. I think they like it too! I made these cute little bags for them this year.

Items you need:

  • small paper bag
  • ribbon
  • stencil or shape to trace
  • clear cellophane
  • ribbon
  • hole punch
  • scissors
  • pencil
  • tags for names
  • candy!

Polka Dot Easter Treat Bags

I used a cookie cutter for my shape. I liked this bunny shape. I centered it where I wanted it to be on the bag and traced around it with the pencil.

Once I had the tracing, I carefully cut it out with my scissors.

I placed a piece of blue paper behind it so you could see the shape.

Polka dot Easter bag Bunny Cut out

I cut out a square of clear cellophane, large enough to cover the whole design. I taped it to the inside of the bag. This will keep the candy from falling out!

I punched two holes in the top of the bag, through both sides of the bag, so I could tie the bag closed with a ribbon.

I always give my kids a chocolate bunny, so that when in the bag first, and then I added some other smaller candies to fill the bag.

I had these circle key rings and the letters in my stash, so I joined the two together. I made a hole in the cardboard letter so I could add it to the key ring.

Once the bag was full, I tied the top closed and added the initial key ring.

I think they turned out pretty cute! Perfect for kids, both small and grown up!

Pink, Yellow and Orange Spring Porch

spring porch pink, yellow and orange spring porch title

Good morning! I’m a day late, but I made it today! Did you do anything exciting this past weekend? I helped out my animal shelter at the adoption event at PetSmart on Saturday. We had two different adoption events happening and ended up with 18 dog adoptions! So happy for these furry friends!

I was finally able to get my Christmas stuff (!) off my front porch and make it a little more spring like. It’s been hard to get out to fix it up between rainy days and really cold days, but we finally had a nice weekend, so I got busy!

I always change up my chalkboard for the season.

Aren’t these the boots the cutest? These were my daughters when she was three. She wore them EVERYWHERE!! Even to church! Only when you are 3, right?

This is my favorite bunny friend. She is definitely ready for spring and for some fresh carrots.

I used to sing this song to my girls when they were small. Some of my preschoolers sing it too and it brings back such sweet memories.

I used a Dollar Store scarf and tied it around a small pillow form. This is a great simple way to bring some color to any room.

I try to fill this wicker box with flowers for each season. I usually use Dollar Store flowers out here because they tend to get faded and dirty. This way I can replace them easily and not be out too much money.

It is supposed to rain again this week, so these boots would come in handy. If I was 3. And had little feet. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you all have a great week!

My Entryway is Ready for Spring

Good morning! It’s March! And Easter is at the end of the month! I don’t like when Easter is so early. It just seems too soon and then it’s a long time until summer. Plus it’s too cold to wear a cute little summery dress for Easter. 🙂  Have you done some spring decorating? I have done a little. Mostly my entryway and living room. Lauren had a jewelry party at my home a week ago, so I spruced everything up! It’s nice to look around and see the cheerful spring colors.

I keep my same basic pieces here-my door table, the beach striped stool, and the green picnic basket. Then I change around the accessories.

I really like the soft colors of spring. It really brightens up the house when outside may be rainy and gloomy.

I added some speckled yellow and blue eggs to the lantern. I also placed some moss ones at the bottom to fill it up a bit more.

I found these cute little eggs a the 99 Cent Store. I love the turquoise and gold! By placing them under a cloche, it makes them seem more special.

See the little egg next to the bird? It’s an real bird egg. At our old house, we had a lot of trees, including a huge, old oak tree. We would find bird’s nest and eggs quite often. This one happened to survive the fall to the ground.

Of course, I had to add a bunny! It’s Easter! This one has such as sweet little face. I used a moss green blanket in the basket and it’s the perfect background for the bunny.

I am ready for spring! Not only my house, but myself too!  For your convenience, I have included some links below for similar items. Have fun decorating for spring!

Turquoise & White Spring Tablescape

Just one more week and it is officially spring!! We have definitely been having the ups and downs of spring weather over here. We have one day of rain and then later in the week we are wearing shorts! I am so looking forward to wearing more springlike clothing. I’m getting tired of my winter stuff!

I always have fun coming up with new ways to decorate my table for the seasons. The table we use was my grandparents. We refinished it many years ago, before we had kids, but it really needs another refinishing or painting. Because the top has seen better days, I use a tablecloth over it and it is usually this white one. This way I can do any color scheme I want. Of course, it usually includes turquoise!

I layered a burlap piece with black fleur-de-lis over the tablecloth. This was a piece from Lauren’s stash. I placed a wooden tray in the middle and filled it with springtime goodies.

I set the place-settings at the ends of the table a little different than the sides. For the side seats, I just added a turquoise plate with a pretty napkin. I will show you in a bit where the rest of the items are stored.

For the ends, I first placed a rattan place-mat and then added turquoise plates with white polka-dots and a pretty white one on top. The napkin is also turquoise and white polka-dots. A little secret-it’s the same as the other napkin, just the other back side!

Did you notice the flatware? I have had these for quite awhile and don’t use them very often, so I thought I would pull them out and let them be used. I love the little touch of whimsy!

I transformed my hot chocolate bar into a self-service bar. I have more plates, flatware and glasses for easy access. Just add the food and it is all set to go!

I love being able to change things up and I especially love decorating for spring! If you would like to take a look at last years table, here it is. Just beware-the pictures are not very good! Can we say blurry?! Here is Lauren’s table too. Hope you have a spring filled day!!
