Beautiful, Blingy, British Flag

Hello everyone!  I hope that you are all getting prepared for Halloween that is just around the corner.  Are all of your costumes ready?  Do you have enough candy?  Is your front porch all decked out?

Well this weeks post has nothing to do with Halloween…Sorry.

So you know how last week I posted about a project that I was working on?  If not, don’t worry, I’m going to go through it again!

Here are your supplies!

A piece of wood, paint, glue, jewels, paint brushes, and tweezers.  I started by painting the board with grey.  Of course, you can paint it whatever color you want, but I went with grey.

Next, I printed out the design I wanted on paper and drew it onto the board.  I did so by coloring the back of the paper with pencil, then drawing over the lines again to have the pencil go through.

Once I had the design, I started placing the jewels on the board.  I would put glue on the small section that I wanted to start bedazzling and would hand place, or tweezer place, the jewels on.

Now, I made the design a little bit different than the original.  If you can’t tell from the picture above, the design that I picked was the British flag.  So for me, instead of red, white, and blue, I used pink, white, and black.

I added some gems of other colors to add some dimension to the flag.  So, I have purple in the pink section of the flag, and added some purple and blue in the black section.

It took a lot of time and effort, but it was totally worth it.  I would lay out the jewels that I wanted to use on the board and would add glue to place the jewels.

And after about 18 hours of work (all broken up, not in one sitting) I finally finished.  And I am extremely proud of my work.  So here it is!

It looks amazing!  I am so happy with how it turned out.  And it looks amazing in the sunlight because the light just shimmers off of the jewels.  I am sooooooo happy and I cannot wait to do more!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fabulous Finds and Fashions-Costume Edition

Hello everyone!  Welcome to another edition of Fabulous Finds and Fashions.  This week, because my actual post for Friday is taking longer than expected, I am showing you what I am wearing for Halloween.

Now, do you remember when I posted about all my love of a Youtuber name Markiplier?  No…well click here to read that blog post.

So, I decided to be Markiplier for Halloween!  Or at least the female version.

full-markiplier

So, I will be wearing the Markiplier logo shirt under a red plaid flannel shirt that I bought from Old Navy.  Now, why am I wearing a red flannel?  According to Markiplier, his red flannel shirt is his lucky flannel, so I must wear it also.  I will be wearing my over ear headphones since Markiplier is a gamer and wears these kinds of headphones.

I added some more Markiplier themed stuff on the pocket.  I have a hot pink mustache because Mark has a character on his channel called Wilford Warfstache who has a pink mustache.  So, it has become a symbol on the channel.  I also added my two Five Nights at Freddy’s characters since Mark is considered the King of Five Nights at Freddy’s.

Even though no one is going to know who I am for Halloween, there is that random chance that they will.  Either way, it is fun and simple and I can’t wait to wear it!

Corner News-Time for Bling!

Hello everyone!  Today’s Corner News is a preview of an art project that I am working on.  Hopefully, I will be able to give you a full how-to on Friday….

If I get it done on time.

So, here are my supplies.  A board, grey paint, glue, paint brushes, and lots of gems!  Some are scrapbooking stickers and others are just rhinestones.

The first thing I did was painted the board grey and then drew the British Flag on the board.

Then, I started gluing and sticking!  I decided to use pink instead of red and black instead of blue.  But, here is what I have so far!

Not too much, but it’s a start!  I can’t wait to finish it!  Thanks for stopping by where, hopefully, it will be done next Friday!

Pumpkins and Spiders and Cats Oh My!

Hello everyone!  I would like to welcome everyone to the wonderful time of year where you need a parka in the morning and shorts in the afternoon.  Not too fun when you need to plan two different outfits for the entire day…

Oh well.

So my roommates and I have been decorating our apartment for the fall/Halloween season.  It’s been fun because we have all added a little bit to the decorations.  So we shall start with the front door.

We had the burlap wreath hanging on the door with a “Give Thanks” plaque in the middle.  So we took off the plaque and added the spider web and spider for the Halloween season.  So Spoopy!

We also added my Halloween cat box with some Halloween garland and a Boo sign.  We wanted it to look even scarier and left a bunch of real spider webs and leaves all over it to give it a spooky feel.

In reality, there was a huge wind storm that came through and added to our decor.

Next, we have the table.  It is extremely simple…but there is candy!  Just a simple fall lantern with some leaves, a ceramic pumpkin and candles.

Next we have the bathroom.  We have added some candles (like, 5), lots of leaves, and even a pumpkin!  Well, the pumpkin doubles as a candle, so we have the best of both worlds.  We also have this adorable pumpkin towel.  Doesn’t the jack-o-lantern look so happy?

Finally, we have the adorable kitties Halloween pictures.  Now, as some of you may know I work at a pet boarding facility in my town and the employees can bring their animals in for themed pictures like the clients.  So, of course, I had to take the opportunity to take Target and Amelia to get their Halloween pictures taken!

Isn’t the Amelia butterfly and Target pumpkin adorable?  PS: I apologized to my coworkers who had to take the pictures in advance.

So, there are my fall/Halloween decorations.  I hope you like the simplicity of what we have for decor.  And of course, the cats are awesome and their pictures are great!  Thanks for stopping by!

Black, Orange and Green Halloween Table-Finds and Fashions

Welcome back to a Finds and Fashions! I haven’t posted one of these for awhile. I haven’t wanted to buy too much since we will be moving, but good news!  We finally found a house!! It has taken us a while, but we finally found one that has all the different features we were looking for. It will need quite a bit of updating-good blog posts! For example, the sink in the kitchen is chocolate brown. Really!! I think I see a farmhouse sink in the future!! I will be posting lots of updates as we get projects done. But for today I have a Halloween tablescape for you.

I decided to go with the color scheme of black, orange and green this time. A little dark, but a little fun too.   I started out with a white tablecloth and layered my black and white striped runners horizontal across the top.

I found black charger plates with skulls on them at the 99 Cent Store and placed a white plate on top of it.  Lauren had some black fabric that was reversible, so I made napkins out of them. I like how they have two patterns on them. I placed a polka-dotted treat cup on top and a black crow keeps watch.

For the centerpiece, I used an oval chalkboard and drew some spiderwebs on it. Then I added some black spray-painted candlesticks (one of my finds at $3.00 for 8 candlesticks), with black taper candles. Some small orange and white pumpkins and some green sparkly ribbon add to the color scheme.

I had the black flowers and the silver spider from a pumpkin Haley made several years ago and I just picked up the ’31’ at Goodwill last week. Only 29 cents each!

I also found this handsome guy at the 99 Cent Store. Love his top hat and sparkles!

I love how the wax is dripping down the candles. Adds just the right spooky touch!

I don’t do a whole lot for Halloween, but this sure was fun to set up!
