Fabulous Finds and Fashion-Floral Ruffled Tank Top

Hello!  Welcome!  I hope that you are all having a great week so far and I hope that you are all looking forward to the plans that you have in store for the weekend.

So, this week, I didn’t find anything interesting.  But, I did rediscover a tank top that I had hanging in the closet.  I purchased the top from Maurices in January of 2015, and it has been extremely cute.  But, it has been very hard to wear because it is long and flowy.

So I took this opportunity to find some new outfits to wear with the shirt.

1. Tank Top and Shorts

Look 1

And here is the shirt.  You might be able to tell how it can be a little hard to wear.  I added a pair of Torrid denim shorts and a pair of gold Vera Wang flip flops to finish the look.  It is perfect for any summer day and perfect to keep cool.

2. Tank Top and Pink Capris

Look 2

I have owned this pair of pink capris for quite a few years.  They are Faded Glory and I bought them from Walmart for Easter.  They are so comfy and they look good with so many different shirts.  I added a pair of Mossimo blingy nude flats to finish off the look.

3. Tank Top, Lace Cover Up, and Jean Capris

Look 3

So, I forgot that I had this lace cover up in my closet.  It looks really good over the tank top.  I tied it in the front because it didn’t look good hanging loose in the front.  I added a pair of jean capris and pink floral Vera Wang flip flops to finish off the look.

I am very happy with my new outfit choices.  I can’t wait to wear them out to school or church or even shopping.  I hope that you like my new outfits, and I can’t wait to see you on Friday!

For my Valentine Budget Craft, I made a Pixy Stix Flower Vase. So simple too!

I bought what I needed from the Dollar Tree and used some things I already had. Here is what you will need:

  • Pixy Stix or any other long candy- I bought 2 bags so I would be sure to have enough of red, purple and blue. $2.00
  • A tin can-I used some beans for dinner and cleaned the can and removed the label.
  • Styrofoam ball or square- I had some of these from Christmas, but I know I have seen square pieces at the Dollar Tree. $1.00
  • Silk Flowers-(2) Pink Tulips, (2) pinkish fuzzy ball things, (1) pink berry-$5.00
  • Ribbon-I had mine, but they had some cute designs at the store. $1.00

I first sorted through my Pixy Stix and pulled out the colors I wanted to use. I put them into the pattern I wanted and then started hot gluing them onto the can.

Once my candy went all the way around, I pushed the styrofoam ball into the can.

I used wire cutters to cut each stem of flowers off the big part on the end.

I arranged them in the can by pushing them into the styrofoam ball. I placed a taller tulip in the middle and then placed shorter ones all around it. Next I filled in with the fuzzy balls and lastly, added the berries. I used the green spiky leaves that came with the flowers to fill in any empty spaces. After the arranging was done, I added a pink bow around the middle of the can.
