Baby Shower Ideas

Hello!  Let me preface this by saying that no, I Lauren am not pregnant.  I am still very single and very much not looking to have a baby anytime soon.  But, my cousin Sarah is having a baby boy this summer!  So these are some cute ideas for baby showers, for new moms or moms who already have kids.  Enjoy!

Is this not adorable?  And perfect for new moms!  This cute Mom-Osa bar comes from Crisp Collective and it includes the cute printables for the jars!

This is perfect for any baby shower!  And the best part is you can customize it for your baby.  Craftsy give you the step by step instructions on how to make this cute cake.

How cute are these hot air balloons?  A balloon, some confetti, and some tool can make these balloons perfect for your tables.  Unfortunately the page these were on originally has been taken down…sorry about that.

This is a great way for you to decorate your baby’s room AND let your party guests say something nice for your baby.  You can use any animals you want with any colors.  Art Bar gives their instructions on how to make it.

Baby Sock Bouquet!  This is not only a great piece of decoration but a great gift for new moms.  Check out Great Home Design for a step by step guide.

Okay…this is another idea without a page source, but it was too cute to share.  How perfect would this be over your gift table?

How adorable is this?  It is cute twist on giving socks and onesies to a new mom.  Check out Chica Circle for instructions on this adorable cupcake recipe.

I love (pun definitely intended) this love hula hoop.  This original post made this for a bridal shower but it can also be made for a baby shower.  Check out the DIY on Strawberry Chic Blog.

This would be an awesome surprise for any mom.  Getting a gift of this many diapers along with other fun things like onesies and shoes??  How cool would that be?  Behind the After has a full instructional guide for this cute diaper wreath.

Graduation Gifts to Make and Give

Good morning! How was your weekend? I was finally home for a weekend and it was sooo nice! Our weather is pretty crazy though. We had 100 degrees on Thursday and then yesterday, it was 65 degrees and rainy! This is the most spring-like weather we have had in years! I am ready for warmer weather, but not too hot.

Of course, this time of year, there are graduations happening. My niece will be graduating high school this month. She is the youngest of the 6 grandchildren in our family. This is certainly reason to celebrate! While I will be giving her cash, because what high schooler doesn’t want money!, I wanted to find a fun way to give it. Here are some of the ideas I found. Click on the picture to be taken to the post.

  1. A box that looks like a graduation cap. I actually made similar ones when the older nieces and nephew graduated.

2. I love these little origami caps. So cute!

3. How about a rose? Maybe a dozen?

4. Every teenager also like pizza. I think this is such a cute idea!

Do you have a special graduate in your life? Here are some super fun and original graduation gift ideas for kindergarten through college!

5. This is so adorable? It would be cute to paint little graduation caps on the umbrella.

Graduation is an exciting time. Show your support and excitement with a fun handmade graduation gift that everyone will want. Give the gift of cash!

6. How about a jar filled with little money diplomas? A lot of us have extra jars around the house. This is a great way to use them!

7. I love this! I have done a candy gram for other events, but not graduation.

you "rock"! after completing "mounds" of homework and "piecing" together all of your knowledge, you've finally hit "payday": graduation! as you head off to college, don't listen to any "snickers": you're no "dum dum"! you are one "hot tamale" on your "way" to making "100 grand"! congratulations on your graduation "smartie"!:

8.  A 2 liter full of cash and candy? Yes, please!

9.  This little guy is so cute! Another use for those jars. Fill it with cash, gift cards, or candy.

10. I adore these! I found these on Etsy. They would be so cute to give with the city of the college the student is going to.

What do you think? Would you give any of these to friends and family? I will be getting started on a couple of these. Hope you all have a great week!

Red Truck Story and Wrapping Gifts

Many, many moons ago, when I was a little girl, my dad owned a Forest Green Ford F100. I sure wish he still had it today! I would paint it Apple Green and have it all decked out. I would wave goodbye to him in the morning when he left for work. By the way, my mom made me that nightgown. 🙂

Several years ago, my mom purchased a similar truck as a gift for him. It is red, but it is the same model. I used it under my clear lamp with some snow and bottlebrush trees. I love how nostalgic it is!

It looks great with the tree in the back, ready to be taken home and decorated for Christmas!

Do you see the fireplace in the background? Love it!!

Now on to the rest of the post.

It is my friend, L’s, birthday today. Happy birthday! So I put together this gift for her. I’m posting a little later today so she won’t see this until after I give her the present. Sneaky, huh?! I made a couple of things and picked up a few things at the store. So simple really. This would work great for any and white present gifts

You can’t go wrong with chocolate and a candle.

I made this tassel key ring for her using purple (one of her favorite colors) embroidery floss. I added a dog tag and a couple of charms.

I also made her this sign using her favorite verse. I used different fonts, printed it out on the computer, traced over it on the board and then wrote it in with Sharpie.

I added black and white polka-dot tissue and some shredded paper to the box. I placed all the goodies inside. Then I wrapped the box in black and white paper, added sparkly black tulle, and finished the top with a red ornament with the initial ‘L.’

I didn’t want it too Christmasy, since it’s for a birthday, but I really like how it looks so festive! This would definitely work for a Christmas gift too!

I really hope she likes her gift. I will let you know next time! Have a lovely week!

Corner News-November 20, 2015

Happy Friday! This week is a bit better than last. Last week Friday, I didn’t feel so well :(. It wasn’t terrible, just blah and yukky. Glad that’s over with! Next week at school we have our Thanksgiving Feast and the kids are very excited! We have been practicing a couple of verses and the Gobble, gobble song to perform for their parents. Then it’s time to eat!

Rozy has already been eating her share of pumpkin! She created this nice hole and then kept making it bigger until she could get her whole head inside! She would eat some pumpkin and spit out the seeds.

While Rozy is still celebrating fall, I started wrapping presents. My closet was overflowing and I wasn’t even sure what all I had anymore! In fact, I found some things for the girls I had completely forgotten about!! But I have my list now, and it’s all organized. I bought some wrapping paper last year, but I tried using up the old stuff I had.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! If you are preparing to travel for the holiday, be safe. Enjoy your time with your families!
