99 Cent Store St. Patrick’s Day

Also, I know what you are thinking. ‘Lauren, you did a 99 Cent Store Valentine’s Day, why are you now doing St. Patrick’s Day?’ Well, first of all, it’s the 99 Cent Store, what can go wrong? And second of all, everything is only 99 cents, so you can buy tons of stuff!

So, of course with Valentine’s over, the next special holiday is St. Patrick’s Day! Or, Easter if you don’t really care about St. Patrick’s Day. But, this holiday is perfect for Decorating with the Pantone Color of the Year: Green!

Naturally, I bought two garlands that were green with shamrocks. They look really cute all wound around the ends of the bookshelf. And of course, the cats were soooooooo helpful while I was trying to decorate.

Next is this cute shamrock cut out sign. I got two of the in the pack, but I only ended up hanging one. I love how the middle is gold and the rest is green and sparkly!

Then I got a green garland shamrock hanging….thing. I don’t really know what to call it, but it looks really cute under our message board. Yes, we did have something else there for Valentine’s Day, but why not switch it out for a different holiday.

Next, we of course have coins! I got green and gold plastic coins and scattered them around the table. Honestly, the cats will probably enjoy them after the holiday.

And finally, the part that the cats hated the most. I, of course, saw these little plastic hats and had to buy them. For the cats and for no other reason.

And of course they hated me while I was attempting to take pictures. Target looks absolutely adorable, but Amelia not so much. She didn’t like how it looked on her I guess.

Hello everyone! I have a really easy project that you can make just in time for Valentines Day! I hope you enjoy!

So I am currently working on a bunch of artwork for a craft show that I will be attending in March. As a part of attending the craft show, I need to give a small donation for a silent auction. Because of this, I made two small canvass that go together!

(I must apologize because I made the first canvas before I thought of taking pictures for the blog. Sorry.)

I decided I was going to make a heart and an XO. Now, I made the heart before I took pictures, but I will show yo how I made the XO.

First, I started with I drew out the X and the O to make sure they were the right sizes.

Then you place the glue. I followed my lines because I somehow fit the letters perfectly.

And finally TAKE PICTURES!

But, I couldn’t take just normal pictures. I had to attempt to take pictures of my two miniature canvases with my cats Target and Amelia.

I swear I spent way too long trying to get these pictures….

But I think the tiny canvases turned out so cute! And I mean, my cats love each other and I love them so it works out perfectly! Especially since I am the conductor of the single train for life…………………………………………..

Finds and Fashions-Target Dollar Spot

Good morning! Happy Wednesday! Today my Finds and Fashions come from the Target Dollar Spot! Some of this stuff is so hard to resist! I shouldn’t be buying anything right now, because I will just have to pack it, but I just couldn’t pass these by. I know it won’t be there later, so I snatched them up.

I love this wooden platter with just the little touch of Christmas on the top. It could be used for a little tabletop vignette or to serve up some Christmas goodies. Maybe Santa’s cookies and milk! And the little garland is the perfect little touch to add Christmas charm. I think I will put it around my little cows neck in the kitchen.

You know I couldn’t resist this sign! I am planning on decorating my laundry room with dog stuff, so this is the perfect addition.

What can I say? I have been a California girl my whole life! I just had to have this bag. I wonder, does Target have a different bag in each state? Probably. I also picked up the little trees you see in the corner. I don’t know if they will get used this year, but they are perfect for the little jar snow globes you see around.

Pumpkins and Spiders and Cats Oh My!

Hello everyone! I would like to welcome everyone to the wonderful time of year where you need a parka in the morning and shorts in the afternoon. Not too fun when you need to plan two different outfits for the entire day…

Oh well.

So my roommates and I have been decorating our apartment for the fall/Halloween season. It’s been fun because we have all added a little bit to the decorations. So we shall start with the front door.

We had the burlap wreath hanging on the door with a “Give Thanks” plaque in the middle. So we took off the plaque and added the spider web and spider for the Halloween season. So Spoopy!

We also added my Halloween cat box with some Halloween garland and a Boo sign. We wanted it to look even scarier and left a bunch of real spider webs and leaves all over it to give it a spooky feel.

In reality, there was a huge wind storm that came through and added to our decor.

Next, we have the table. It is extremely simple…but there is candy! Just a simple fall lantern with some leaves, a ceramic pumpkin and candles.

Next we have the bathroom. We have added some candles (like, 5), lots of leaves, and even a pumpkin! Well, the pumpkin doubles as a candle, so we have the best of both worlds. We also have this adorable pumpkin towel. Doesn’t the jack-o-lantern look so happy?

Finally, we have the adorable kitties Halloween pictures. Now, as some of you may know I work at a pet boarding facility in my town and the employees can bring their animals in for themed pictures like the clients. So, of course, I had to take the opportunity to take Target and Amelia to get their Halloween pictures taken!

Isn’t the Amelia butterfly and Target pumpkin adorable? PS: I apologized to my coworkers who had to take the pictures in advance.

Hello everyone! And welcome to another edition of the Corner News. This post is somewhat exciting…depending on what you think of it.

I start school in a little over a week. Boo! I don’t want to go back. But, it is my last semester in college and then I will be graduated and done with school. Hooray!

Next on the agenda is that I got two cats!

Their names are Target and Amelia and they were strays that were living at my work. They are pests…but I love them.

Target is a 1 and half tuxedo domestic short hair. She is the typical cat, where she thinks that I cater to her. And…she loves laying on the table, the exact place I don’t want her to be.

Amelia is a 4 month hold calico. She is, as a call her, a pain in my tushie. She is still very much a kitten, so her favorite thing to do attack my feet in the middle of the night and run around crazy while I’m trying to sleep.
