Our First Blogiversary

annual

It’s official! We are now One!!! I can hardly believe it’s been a year. I remember sitting with Lauren and telling her it would be fun to start a blog, but had no idea what I would do for it. The more we talked, the clearer it became and soon Lauren was joining me on this adventure. Then came the decision for a name. That probably took us 3 weeks! I recall Haley walking in and saying, ‘Are you still talking about a name?!’ Ha! Now here we are a year later!

Blog Portrait, Lauren and Pamela

Some of Pam’s favorites have included furniture make-overs, DIY’s and decorating. She also loved redoing Lauren’s room and finally getting the hallway painted! Lauren loved being able to show off her Paris bedroom and of course her puppy, Zoella! Just knowing we have to post something helps us be more intentional about getting projects done.

Some improvements this year have included better pictures, at least I hope so! I am slowly learning how to take better and brighter pictures. We also had our first giveaway! It was so exciting to be contacted by ParrotUncle to give away one of their lamps. Hopefully that will be the first of many! We also received 2 awards this year: The Liebster Award and a Blogger Recognition Award. Thank you to fellow bloggers for nominating us!!

We are planning on making a few changes, all positive we hope! Pam will still be posting on Monday. We are going to post on Wednesday with a Fabulous Finds and/or Fashion Day. We will either post about thrift store/garage sale finds or some fashion ideas. Lauren will be posting on Friday. Hopefully this will work better with her school and work schedule and Saturday will be our Corner News.

Of course, we want to hear from you too! What kind of posts do you like to see? Are there things you don’t like or things we should change? Please let us know in the comments below. Just be kind please :)!

I don’t want to be too mushy, but I really have to say thank you.  I have thoroughly enjoyed writing blog posts and letting everyone who comes by see them.  It has been hard for me at some points because of working a full time job and going to school full time, but I love to come up with ideas of how I can make a blog post.  I have enjoyed reading all of the kind comments that I have received on some of my posts (mostly about Zoella, but nevertheless) and loved seeing who has come to view our blog.  Thank you for not only fulfilling my dream to create and write about something for people to see, but also showing me that you care about what I write.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart!  And cheers to creating more amazing content to share with all of you!

It has been quite a ride this year and we can’t wait to see what else is waiting for us! Thank you again for coming over to read our posts and for all the kind comments! Obviously we wouldn’t continue if we didn’t have readers! Thank you for your support!sparkle

Corner News-January 16, 2016

Welcome to another edition of the Corner News!  This weeks edition is very short and sweet, but it is all worth it in the end.

Last night, my mom and I were creating burlap tablecloths for an Open House at Valley Animal Haven, the shelter we volunteer with.  We decided that we wanted to stamp some paw prints onto the burlap to make them more personal for the shelter.  So, taking two different stamps and lots of black paint, we got started on our project.

And here is what our dining room looked like when we were done!

They turned out super cute!  The randomness of the paw prints makes the design even cuter!

And why not just look at the handy work of one of the beautiful paw prints.  Isn’t it splendid?

So this is the big excitement of what happened this week.  Hope you all have a great weekend!

Corner News-January 2, 2016!

Welcome to the first official post of 2016!  2015 was an amazing year, but we want to make 2016 even better.

But, before 2016 even got started, we took a family vacation to Morro Bay.  This beautiful beach destination is only about 2 hours away from us, so it’s nice for a day trip.

After we arrived and had lunch, we started walking down the street for some shopping.  But before we could get anywhere, we saw some seals sunbathing on a deck.  Why not take a picture of them?

Next, we did some store looking.  It’s like window shopping, but we actually go into the store and look around.  This particular store always has these star lights in it, so Haley and I like to look at them.  Of course, I took a picture of the pink ones.

Next, we went to mom and my favorite store.  It is called the Garden Gallery and it has some beautiful items that it has for decoration.  They had a lot of Christmas Trees up that had different decorations.

I also saw this adorable old fashion car in The Garden Gallery.  How cute is it?

So after all of our hard shopping, we had to go get candy.  There’s a great little place called Kelly’s Candies that we get all of our sweets from.  Haley decided to pull an Ariana Grande and “lick” the candy before taking it home.

Jelly Belly

But the staple of the store is the Dutch mints.  They are hard candy shells with a soft mint inside.  Mom and I always buy a bag or we will be sad.

And finally, we made it to the beach!  It was an absolutely beautiful day, so why not make a video to document the day?

I hope that you enjoyed our little mini vacation.  It was a great way to spend our New Years Eve and it was a great way to start off the new blog year!

Corner News-December 18, 2015

Yay! My last Friday for a couple of weeks! Of course, I already have too much planned for my vacation and probably most of it won’t get done. Oh well! I will just enjoy the time I have.

In other Corner News, Haley and I moved the Christmas Tree to a new corner this week! Ha! Have you ever done this? Since we put up the fireplace, I rearranged the room and then there didn’t seem to be a good place for the tree. I had it one place and it finally drove me so crazy I had to move it. It’s much better now! 🙂 (and so am I!)

Here are a couple of my thrift store finds this week. I also found a Nate Berkus tray for $5.00, and a new lampshade. This metal basket with a liner is filled with silvery leaves. Can’t wait to see what else will work in here!

I had my husband cut these wood slices last year and have used them so many different way. I hot glued tacks to the back so they can be rearranged easily. Here are a couple more ideas. I filled a glass candle holder with some ornaments and added a couple of Turkmenistan Camels to the display.

I hope your holiday is filled with joy and time spent with family and friends!

Corner News-December 11,2015

Welcome to another edition of the Corner News.  Christmas is just around the corner and finals are upon us.  Hooray…

But on a happier note, I got myself an early Christmas present.  Even though I won’t be able to actually bring it home for a little while, it is still very exciting.

Meet Zoella!

This little bundle of joy is only 5 weeks old, but I was able to put down a deposit on her yesterday.  She is at the animal shelter that my family volunteers with, Valley Animal Haven, and she is absolutely precious!  My mom and sister were actually at the shelter when she and her two brothers were born.  And, I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her and I can’t wait to bring her home!

By the way, the first picture was taken two weeks ago and the second one was taken yesterday.  I am so excited to bring her home and watch her grow up.

So, that is definitely the most exciting thing that happened these past two weeks.  Hope everyone is doing well and if you have finals, good luck!
