Finds and Fashions-Beige Edition

I’m back today with another Finds and Fashions! I decided to post another one like last week, but this time I used beige or tan as my base color. Beige does not have to be boring!!

My first beige piece is the cropped pants. I love these pants! They are just the right color of beige, they go with a lot of different tops and they are comfortable! I added a white sleeveless top with silver jewels at the neckline and then a coral and beige jacket over the top. The beige purse also has silver jewels. I finished it off with white sparkly sandals and silver hoop earrings.

*About the pup…she chooses to sit there! Every time I put an outfit down on the floor, she would come over and sit right next to it. Maybe she will be the next Top Model!!!*

I love this jacket!! Take a look at the close-up! There are dogs on it!! I found this at Goodwill last year and of course, I couldn’t pass it up! It’s¬†probably more fitting for fall, but I did just wear this outfit last week since it was still a little chilly. I layered it over a cream tank top and teal pants, though they look more blue in the picture. I added a multi-colored scarf, turquoise and beige sandals, a turquoise bracelet and silver earrings. Just the dogs on the jacket are included this time. ūüôā

I bought this kimono style floral jacket from GroopDeals.com¬†( I am not affiliated with Groopdeals, just enjoy shopping with them.).¬†As soon as I saw it, I loved it! I paired it with a bright royal blue tank and white jeans. ¬†A pearl bracelet, white earrings and blue sandals finish it off. I wore this for our school’s open-house a couple of weeks ago and it was very comfortable.

The Color Red-Fabulous Finds and Fashions

I decided to do something a little different this week with my fashions. I pulled items out of my closet, I chose red, and decided to lay them out with all the accessories and take pictures of them. When I told Lauren about it, she told me, “Guess what? I did the same thing!” We hadn’t even talked about it before! I guess great minds DO think alike!! LOL!

I decided to go with red this time. I don’t have a lot of bright colors, but I was able to put a couple of things together. Most of these are great finds too!

This red dress came from Forever 21 in the clearance section two summers ago. I like the fit and flair style. I originally wore it for Christmas, but it works great other times too. I added a necklace and earrings and a wallet that Lauren was getting rid of and some strappy sandals from Goodwill, NWT from Target. A little dressy, but still casual for summer.

Most of this outfit is also from Goodwill. The red pants are from the Kardashian Kollection, but found at Goodwill, as was the top and the tote. The sandals were from a yard sale and I really don’t remember where the necklace came from. And always bring your puppy as an accessory!!

I love this striped skirt and have worn it with many different things throughout the years. I layered a red tank top under the lace top to get the pop of red without overdoing it. I bought the purse last year from Ross before going to Disneyland. I have had the copper flip-flops for so long I can’t even tell you where I got them! The owl necklace was from the 99 Cent Store. There are silver hoops there too, by the shoes, but you can hardly see them on the rug.

It helps me to use what I already own and not keep buying so many pieces I have nothing to go with! I hope to do a few more of these in other colors too. ¬†Do you enjoy putting outfits together too? Doing it ahead of time takes away the excuse,”I have nothing to wear!”

A Project That Has Taken Almost A Year

So, a small disclaimer that this project is yet to be completed.  But, I will show you what I have completed so far, and tell you what I plan on doing with it.  Hopefully I can get this project done in the near future.

This project started from an idea that I found while exploring the wonders of the internet. ¬†I had Googled a term that I search very often when I am bored: ‘recycled outfits’.
I like to see what other people have created and try to see if there is a possibility of me trying to create my own.

And while on one of my Google searches, I found my newest project.  People have created dresses with cupcake liners.  And they look amazing!

So, I took up the challenge to create my own version.

I had some white fabric that I had left over from other projects that I used as a simple long skirt.  I plan on attaching a top for a dress, but this is just a small portion of what the skirt looks like so far.

The cupcake liners have all been cut in half to help make the skirt have a scale like look.  And each and every cupcake liner has been hot glued to the fabric to give it this look.  They still have some maneuverability, but for the most part, the skirt is pretty stiff.

I am really excited to see how the whole dress turns out.

Now, this isn’t the first dress that I have recycled. ¬†My senior year in high school I made a jean dress for a 4-H recycled project. ¬†I used 26 pairs of jeans that I purchased from thrift stores and made this beautiful dress. ¬†I love the ombre look of the skirt, which is good since the dress weighs 10 pounds!

So these are some of my recycled outfits. ¬†I love to see what I can come up with and see how the dress turns out. ¬†I can’t wait to see how the final product turns out and I can’t wait to show you as well!
