My Recent Photography Ventures

Hello!  How was everyone’s week?  I hope you all had a great week and you are all ready for the weekend!

Unfortunately I have to work this weekend…oh well.

But, last week and this week I was able to go on some photography adventures.  So I wanted to share my favorite photos with you.

Last week my friend Rachel and I went to the beach.  We went to Morro Bay and had the best time ever.  It was very relaxing to get away and sit by the ocean.  So enjoy my beach photos.

By the way, the otters were so close to shore!  They are so cute!

Now 2 days ago I went to visit the local zoo (again).  And because my friend Elise (shocking that I have more than 1 friend) has a season pass and also likes photography, we made a trip out of it.  So here are my photos!

I love taking photos of animals and I hope you enjoy looking at them.

Sorry for this being such a random blog post, but it’s that weird time between Halloween and Thanksgiving where I don’t know how to feel about stuff.  You know, do I wear a sweater and boots or flip flops and a sweatshirt?  Who knows (stupid weather).

A Photo Day at the Zoo

Hey everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and Spring break.  I know that I did even though I worked.  But it was still a fun week nonetheless!

Recently I went to the zoo (again, I know) with one of my best friends Elise.  Normally, we go to play Pokemon Go.  Side note: does anyone else still play Pokemon Go?  I literally only play when I’m at the zoo with Elise.  Anyway, we decided that we wanted to go to the zoo this time to practice our photography skills.

PS-neither of us are at all professional photographers, but I love to work on my pictures.

So I wanted to share my favorite photos from the trip we took.

Peccary

The peccary is one of Elise’s favorite animals.  I don’t know why, but I just see them as shaggy pigs.  But, this picture is awesome.  I love the lighting of it and this peccary was so nice to pose for me.

Orangutan

Next was the orangutan.  I know, there is chain link in this picture, but it still looks great!

Macaw

Next is the rain forest exhibit.  There are normally 3 macaws sitting on this perch, but this time there was only one.  He doesn’t look too impressed with me taking the picture, but the colors and lighting were too perfect.

African Adventures

Now let’s make our way to Africa!

Rhino

Isn’t the baby absolutely adorable!  This baby rhino looks so squishy!

Wildabeast

Originally, I didn’t see the second wildebeest in the background.  Great photographer here!  But, it looks awesome, don’t you think?

Meerkat

This picture isn’t the best, but I like how the meerkat is looking at me.  Especially since he is actually looking at me!

Lion

Finally, this was my favorite picture from the entire zoo trip.  I love how this gentle giant is looking at me.  He looks so majestic and beautiful.

I hope that you like my zoo pictures.  I wish I could say that they were in the wild, but I guess the zoo will have to do.

It’s Been Pretty Quiet Around Here…

It’s Monday again. Back to school and schedules again. Really not wanting to go back, but there are just 6 weeks left and I know we will busy with different activities and time will go by quickly.

We haven’t been around much this past week either. Without a schedule and with spring break, everything got thrown off. We did get to take my little nieces to the zoo and it was so much fun to see it through little one’s eyes again. We enjoyed a beautiful day there and saw a baby rhino and a baby lion. Even a rhino is cute when it’s a baby! My mom and I held our annual yard sale and did pretty well. I’m just glad to get rid of all that stuff and make a little bit of money too! This next weekend, I am going with Haley to visit another college. We will see how it goes! Here are a few pictures from the zoo:

We Went To The Zoo!

Sorry I missed posting yesterday, but we went to the zoo! Our local zoo just opened up a new area, the African Adventure, and I wanted to check it out before I take my preschool class in May. The girls were up for it, so off we went!

Zoo trip with the girls 2016

It was very busy when we got there, but we had no trouble seeing the animals. The walkways were wide and there were lots of places to view each area. This is the view of the savanna when you first enter the African Adventure.

It was empty when we first got there, but pretty soon, we saw these cute little gazelles running and jumping and hopping around. They were so cute! Then the wildebeest came out and chased off the birds. It was like they were all so excited to be out in this beautiful place!

We headed over to the giraffe pavilion where they have a giraffe feeding station. The zoo had this before too, but you had to reach up to give the giraffe some leaves. Now you are up on a platform and the giraffes’ head is right next to you. Very up close and personal!

Here are more with a few of their friends.

Next we headed over to the lionesses, where they were busy sunbathing. They are so beautiful!

Here is one of the zebras enjoying a peaceful day of eating all he wants.

Look at this tree! It’s so cool and huge! It is right by the elephants and zebras and you can walk all through it. The kids were having a great time!

That’s just a little part of our zoo. I’m so glad they have made a better habitat for these animals. I know there are plans to keep improving and I can’t wait to see what else they have planned! I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Easter!
