It smells like rain!! Yay!! We haven’t had much rain this past month, so this is very welcome. The grass is so green, but now it needs mowed. The blossoms are almost gone from the trees, leaving behind the bright green new leaves. Lots of pretty color flowers too!

I received these sweet little flowers for Valentine’s Day from one of my students. She was so excited to give them to me! My kitchen window is the best spot in the house for them, plus I get to enjoy them a lot!

I painted this little crate this week. It was just unfinished wood, so I painted it grey with a little white dry-painted over the top. The flower arrangement was created by one of my girls many years ago when they were trying to earn a badge for a girls club they were in. Of course, I still have it!

I had this little fish tank in my classroom. I had the bowl and added the foamy fish. The kids knew the fish weren’t real, but the sure were confused about the turtle! It’s always fun to keep them on their toes!

Hello and welcome to another exciting and compelling edition of the corner news! Prepare yourself for some life changing stories and pictures worth 1000 words!

Or, you know, just another regular corner news works too.

I have a Poshmark account. Now, it is under my fashion blogs name, 2smallofacloset, but you are more than welcome to browse through my items. I don’t have that much right now, but soon! Soon I will have more items posted for people to look at.

If you don’t know what Poshmark is, it is a app that you download for free and you can buy and sell name brand items. You can sell everything from Forever 21 to UGG Australia, basic tank top to quilted leather boots. And items are being sold at a great price. I purchased a pair of Torrid shorts for $15 when they are originally $40! And they are exactly how the seller described them. You can follow my closet and start your own if you are interested!

The second thing I want to show you is the adorable sign. I bought this while in Hawaii (yes, I know…it’s not really Hawaiian). But it think that it is absolutely perfect for my family. It’s hanging in my room as a reminder of how important dogs are in my life.

CORNER NEWS-FEBRUARY 20

Happy Saturday! Always glad to have a weekend to get caught up on home stuff! I made a quick (!) stop at Hobby Lobby yesterday and found this cool whale’s tail book-end. Maybe it was supposed to have another end, but this part was on clearance, so I snatched it up. I love it! It fits perfect with my beachy theme, plus it’s neutral enough to go with anything.

I also picked up this wooden tree in the new spring section. Karianne, over at Thistlewood Farms featured these and a some cute wooden birds on her blog and I just fell in love with them. They are the perfect accent for spring! I LOVE her blog and her style! Her mantle looks so much better than mine. You can click on Thistlewood Farms above to take a look!

Guess where we just came back from?! Did you notice we seemed to be a little bit absent from the blog this past week? We were enjoying lots of sunshine and warm weather. Maybe this is why I liked the whale’s tail so much! I will be blogging about this soon!

Ombre Painted Canvas with Starfish

Happy Saturday!! We had an interesting week at school. Lice! Every year this comes up. Hopefully we kept it at just 2 kids and that will be the end of it. Next week will be Valentine’s parties and fun. The preschool buys heart shaped pizzas and the kids think it’s cool. We usually just order heart shaped pizzas at home too. I just buy a couple of little things for the girls and my husband and call it good.

I have a simple little craft for you this week. I found a pack of small canvases at Goodwill awhile back and finally decided to use one. I also picked up a couple of starfish at a yard sale and combined them with the canvas.

I guess I didn’t take any before pictures, but here are the paint colors I used. I had a white and a light blue. I also mixed some blue and white together to make a lighter blue that I could blend together on the canvas.

So I started with the white at the top of my canvas. Then I added the mixed blue and then the light blue. After each color was applied, I went over each color again and blended it more with the next one, creating an ombre’ effect. Here is the white and mixed blue.

Once the paint was dry, I added the starfish. I used tacky glue to attach them to the canvas. Here you can see the darker blue too.

Just the perfect little touch to remind me that summer IS coming again! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Welcome to another edition of the Corner News. A post where new things are presented and old news is brought back into the limelight.

In old news, I started back to school…hooray… Only two more semesters. Only two more semesters to go. I am so close to being done with classes and I just want it to be over now. But, I have now started to take my knitting to school because I have time between classes. So, why not take my knitting?

And in new news, I am going to be starting my own blog in a few weeks. It is called Too Small of a Closet, because in reality it’s true. It is going to be a fashion blog and I am really excited to get it started. I won’t be posting anything soon, but it will let you all know when the blog has posts on it.
