Homemade Christmas Ornament Roundup

Good morning! Can you believe it is almost the middle of November already? That seems so crazy! Now is the time to create some new ornaments for your Christmas Tree. Have you ever hosted an ornament party or attended one? I think that would be a lot of fun.

I went back through the blog to look at what ornaments I have made throughout the years. I was surprised at how many there were! There are lots of different ideas and skill levels to choose from. I hope you find something to inspire you!

Paper Pinecone Ornament-This was one of my first ornaments I made for the blog. I still hang this one on my tree and love how it turned out. It does take a bit more time, but it was so worth it.

Faux Deer Ornament-This ornament was made for a fellow blogger and was the first Ornament Exchange I participated in. It was always fun to create a special gift for someone else.

Glittering Silver Sequin Ornament– This was one of my first ornaments, hence, the blurry pictures. This one takes a bit more time, but it’s not difficult. It’s very pretty on the tree!

From Sea Urchin to Jellyfish Ornament– Here is another one from the Ornament Exchange. I made this one for a fellow coastal lover!

Wooden Buoy Ornament– More coastal! This one I made for my own tree and love how they turned out!

Wire Star Ornament– Lauren and I made this one together and would be a great one to make with your kids.

Seashell and Driftwood Ornament– Here is another ornament for the Ornament Exchange. It was so fun to make one and to receive one!

Minnie Mouse Wooden Bead Ornament-Here is a fun one for all the Disney lovers!

Nautical Inspired Seashell Ornament– This is the last one I made for the Ornament Exchange. I always make an extra for myself too. ūüôā

Christmas Cat Ornament– Lauren made this one last year. Perfect for the kids and for cat lovers!

Minnie Mouse Wooden Ornament

I posted this earlier this year, but since we just went to Disneyland for Christmas, I decided it was appropriate to post again! Merry Christmas!

Good morning! Guess what? I am planning a trip to Disneyland! And I am so excited! My husband and I gave my parents a day trip to California Adventure and we have set the date! So I wanted to create something that represented Disney.

I have quite a few of these wooden balls in my stash, so I have been trying to figure out different things to make with them. Minnie ears were the perfect start! I picked pink, black and white for the colors and had some Minnie mouse ribbon left from another project.

I painted all the small balls black for the ears and each of the large ones were painted a different color-pink, black and white. I used acrylic paint for each one and then sprayed each one with semi-gloss clear sealer.

I hot glued 2 of the small balls to the top of one large one to make cute little ears!

Once the ears were on, I added a bow to the top. I also added a hanger so they could be used either as an ornament or as a decoration.

I hung them on my little cup holder just to give you an idea of how they looked.

Aren’t they cute?! They would be perfect for a little girls room, maybe a tablescape or even a Christmas tree.

Perfect for any Disney theme!

Well, that’s one project done, but I have lots of these wooden balls left, so I will be coming up with more! See you next time!

More Bedazzling Shoes!

Hello everyone! ¬†So, I want to inform you that last week’s blog post was a lead up to this weeks post! ¬†Hooray! ¬†So, if you don’t remember last weeks blog post, click here and read it first!

So, my niece’s birthday is coming up at the end of the month, and being the awesome aunt that I am (cough cough ¬†plugging myself for being the best aunt ever lol), I love making her gifts. ¬†So, my niece is turning 4 and love Minnie Mouse.

But then again, I love Minnie Mouse as well, so we have the same taste in Disney stuff.

I decided that I wanted to make her a pair of shoes with Minnie Mouse on them.  Now, I had an idea where I put Minnie Mouse on the side of a pair of Toms knockoffs like my shoes that I did last week.  Unfortunately, Walmart does not carry Toms style shoes like I wanted.

So these were my two choices.

Now why these two pairs of shoes? ¬†First of all, the brown and pink ones are just absolutely adorable! ¬†And the white one were just simple. ¬†I thought about the white shoes because then I could do the classic Minnie Mouse. ¬†But then…my niece will be four and the shoes will not be white for long. ¬†So….I went with the brown and pink.

I then went to Michaels and bought black, white, and pink gems to put on the shoes. ¬†Here was my biggest issue…finding the same pink as the shoe laces! ¬†Michaels had one package that had pink gems and it only had 13 gems in it. ¬†But, with the help from mom I was able to gain more pink gems.

So I found an outline of Minnie Mouse online and printed it out to measure for the front of the shoe.  It took two or three tries, but I got the perfect size.  I then took a pencil and sketched around the Minnie Mouse outline.  I had to cut the inside of the outline to get the bottom of the bow.

And after a lot of sticky fingers and incorrectly placed gems (oops) I finally got the shoes done!

I think they are absolutely adorable!  I added some gems to the sides of the shoes next to the laces and a small line on the back of the shoes to add a little bit of extra bling.

They are so cute!  I hope my niece is as excited to open them as I am to give them to her.  They were so easy to make and I hope that she gets a lot of use out of them!
